It's spring!
Finally, after a long and cold winter, we've started getting some nice weather! Harper has always preferred being outside above all else, so she's been happy as a clam lately. Here are some pictures today of Harper playing outside!

Finally, a prognosis!
Harper has had pneumonia 5 times in the last year. It has been awful! We were referred to a pediatric pulmonary specialist and had our appointment today. First, the doctors were the BEST! They were so nice and informative, and really took the time to hear all of our concerns and check Harper over thoroughly. After a round of questions and tests that lasted two hours, we learn that Harper has...
Asthma.
Asthma?! But no one in our families have asthma? Harper apparently just likes to start her own trends.
Whenever Harper gets pneumonia it always follows the same steps. She gets a cold, which develops into a cough, which turns into pneumonia. The doctors say that the cold triggers her pneumonia, which constricts and lowers her lung function, which in turn makes it very difficult for her to fight off the fluid that is draining from her nasal passages and is leading itself right into her chest. Then, viola, she has pneumonia.
In order to combat this from happening over and over, she has been but on two different inhalers up to 6 times a day. I am hopeful that this will help us to see an improvement in her health. It's heartbreaking seeing your child get so sick nearly every other month!
