I'm feeling so thrifty!

I made 21 oz of sweet potatos tonight for a whopping $1.73! It only took me an hour between the cooking, peeling, and pureeing. Not bad at all. Tomorrow Harper is going to give it a try. Hopefully she will like my hard work.

Harper has pink eye still. But today she gets to stay home with Daddy! Having fun and playing hopefully will make pink eye go away.

Prognosis: Pink Eye

Poor Harper is having her first experience with being sick. She has been battling a cold for the past two weeks and has been sadly losing. Yesterday her eyes were getting all goopy and red so I took the day off and took her to the pediatrician today. The prognosis is a pretty bad cold and pink eye! What a lucky girl. She is in surprisingly good spirits during the day. However she's been having a tough time sleeping at night because she gets so congested. In order for her to sleep last night I had to resort to having her sleep on my chest while I sat in her glider chair in her room:


Notice how nice and comfy she looks, I on the other hand, got a good 3 hours of sleep. But it's what you do for your baby. Rob gets to stay home with her tomorrow so he gets to be the lucky one to be up with her tonight.

A Sunday in Syracuse

Today Harper and I went to visit my family in Syracuse while Rob went to visit his parents in Newark and watch the Bills game. Bills lost again; sigh. Harper and I had fun on our little trip. We first went to visit my friend Emily in her new apartment and then we went to my Aunt Faith's house where Harper got to see her Grandma Cuddy and her cousin Gabriel. Harper and Gabe had a good time together; it's always so cute seeing two babies play togther.

When we first got to see Emily, all Harper wanted to do was blow raspberries for an hour.

Unfortunately, while we were there I noticed that Harper's eye started getting all puffy, red, gooey. My family was pretty convinced that she has pink eye so I'm staying home tomorrow to take her to the doctor. She doesn't seem to be bothered by it so that's good. I'll update tomorrow when we get the prognosis.

Adventures in solid food... bananas!

We gave Harper bananas for the first time. She's getting the hang of eating, sort of. She hasn't quite grasped the concept of opening her mouth when the spoon is coming. However, once the bananas get in there, she loves it.

I'm also making all of Harper's baby food. It's actually a whole lot easier than I thought it would be, plus we end up saving a ton of money. I made 30oz of bannas for $3.50. I'm so thrifty.

We had our first full week of school this week. Its nice to be home relaxing with Harper. We plan on running some arrands and watching the BILLS on sunday.

BACK 2 SKOOL

We are back to school, which means Harper is going to day care. Her day care provider is a parent of one of my students. Her name is Paula and Harper loves it at her house. The photo of the girl with the blond hair is one of the girls who goes to day care with Harper. They LOVE her there.
