Harper's 4 month pictures

It's crazy how fast babies grow. We just took her 4 month pictures and she looks like an entirely different baby than when she was 1 month old. Notice her bib in her 4 month shot. The bib has now become an everyday accessory to aid in the maintenance of her never ending drool. We need to get her some flashier bibs, maybe I'll have to break out the old bedazzler.

Where has our 12 hour sleeper gone?

Alas, Harper has recently decided that night isn't for sleep, but a good time to be up.

I think we have been spoiled these past two months seeing as how Harper was sleeping uninterrupted for 12 hours at a time. For the past week, we're lucky if we can get 3 hours in a row. It's not like she's hungry, she just wants to talk and be cute. The only way we can get her back to sleep is if we bring her in bed with us which I don't like doing. However, I must admit, it is really cute to wake up and open my eyes to see her looking back at me with a big smile on her face.

None the less, we hope this phase ends soon, especially with school starting in a week (for which I'm still in major denial about).

At least for today. Tomorrow she'll look more like Rob.

Harper loves her daddy

I just love love love this picture of Rob and Harper. I love that every time she sees her Daddy she breaks out in a huge smile. This picture is going in a frame and on my desk at work.

Maine family vacation

We went on our first family vacation two weeks ago to Maine. Rob's sister Katie came with us which proved to be a great addition; she helped so much I don't know what we would have done without her. What I learned: driving long distances with a baby is no fun. Credit to Harper, she was really good, well as good as you can expect a 3.5 month old to be. She is going through this little phase right now where she loves the sound of a rattle, it will seriously make her go into this little trance when she hears it. It's good for when she starts crying in the car, but the sound of a rattle for two hours is no fun.

What Harper really loved was hiking in Acadia National Park. We took her to the top of Cadillac Mountain and she loved it. We got some of the biggest smiles out of her. She also loved hanging out in the baby bjiorn and walking around. This girl loves nature!

Hooray for a blog.

Well, Rob has convinced me to do a blog as a chronicle of Harper's life. We thought it would be a good way of letting family see what she's up to and how fast she is growing. Hopefully I'll actually remember to update it because I think it could be fun.

I can't believe that Harper is 4 months old already. The time has seemed to fly by. She seems so big already and changing so rapidly. She already has her own little personality; rather, I should say big personality. She loves smiling and being wild, yet when she doesn't like something she will let you know pretty quick. She's going to give us a run for our money that's for sure.
